Join the project team as a Chartering Manager where you will play a key role in managing and executing all marine transportation and chartering activities for major EPC projects. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, compliant, cost-effective, and on-time delivery of offshore and marine logistics operations in line with project and corporate procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and mobilize all marine transportation resources required for projects, in close coordination with the Head of Chartering and Associated Services.

  • Prepare the bidders’ list for sea transportation scopes, ensuring Vessel Owners undergo full screening, compliance checks, and red flag analysis.

  • Develop and issue Call for Bid (CFB) packages for sea transportation, including Instructions to Bidders and contractual Exhibits forming the Charter Party Agreement (CPA), in coordination with technical teams and in compliance with Chartering Department procedures.

  • Conduct and manage the full tendering process using People Connect, including bidder clarifications and coordination with internal stakeholders for technical and commercial responses.

  • Lead the vessel selection process, including review of vessel specifications, proposed execution plans (routes, transit duration, feasibility), in coordination with:

T&I Department / Project Procurement Manager / Head of Department
until Charter Party signature.

  • Ensure Vessel Owners and logistics service providers are evaluated, selected, and managed in strict accordance with approved project and group procedures.

  • Ensure full contractual flow-down from the main contract to the Charter Party Terms & Conditions, including accountability for amendments to BIMCO Charter Party forms.

  • Lead commercial negotiations to secure optimal pricing while maintaining alignment with project operational and technical requirements.

  • Lead and secure timely availability of the required marine fleet, based on technical assessments and project schedule needs.

  • Drive final negotiations prior to CPA award, documenting agreements through Minutes of Meeting, and ensuring updates are accurately reflected in finalized CPAs.

  • Prepare and issue the Commercial Bid Tabulation (CBT) aligned with the Technical Bid Tabulation, for approval by the Head of Chartering and Project Manager.

  • Ensure all sea transportation procedures and project-specific working instructions are issued on time and approved by the Client.

  • Provide detailed instructions to Vessel Owners, including:

Sailing instructions / Bunkering instructions / Voyage planning (e.g. armed guard boarding locations) / Daily fleet status reporting

  • Produce comprehensive fleet status reports for the Project Procurement Manager (PPM), including ETAs and risk or execution concerns.

  • Initiate and manage all actions required to ensure marine transportation activities are executed:

On schedule / In compliance with contract requirements / With all necessary permits, licenses, and agreements in place for offshore operations

  • Control and monitor all financial aspects related to sea transportation and Charter Party administration.

  • Perform daily follow-up of CPAs post-award, ensuring all required documentation (performance bonds, certificates, guarantees) is in place.

  • Proactively highlight and escalate any commercial or contractual risks related to CPAs.

  • Provide regular reporting and status updates to the Head of Chartering.

Requested Qualifications

The services performed by the SUBCONTRACTOR require the following skills and experience:

  • Proven expertise in Chartering activities and BIMCO Charter Party contracts.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant international standards (API, AISC, etc.).

  • Hands-on experience with BIMCO SmartCon and related chartering digital tools.

  • Solid understanding of EPC project environments and marine logistics interfaces.

  • Strong commercial negotiation skills and contractual awareness.

  • Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
