Airswift is seeking a Microsoft 365 Administrator to work on a contract basis with a major Oil & Gas client in Calgary, Alberta.

This role will support the organization’s cloud productivity and collaboration environment and will be responsible for administering, optimizing, and governing Microsoft 365 collaboration services.

The successful candidate will bring strong hands?on technical expertise across Microsoft 365, with a focus on SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, and Exchange Online, while ensuring security, compliance, platform performance, and a positive end?user experience. This position requires the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with internal IT, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders.
 


Key Accountabilities

  • Administer, configure, and support Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms, with a primary focus on SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams (teams and channels), and OneDrive for Business, ensuring stable, secure, and scalable service delivery.
  • Design, implement, and maintain SharePoint and Teams architecture, including site collections, hub sites, libraries, metadata, permissions models, and channel structures to support business collaboration and information management needs.
  • Establish and enforce governance standards for SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive, including lifecycle management, naming conventions, ownership models, external sharing controls, and retention policies.
  • Manage OneDrive for Business administration, including storage allocation, sharing settings, data recovery, access troubleshooting, and user adoption best practices.
  • Plan and execute content and collaboration migrations, including SharePoint, Teams, file shares, and OneDrive, ensuring data integrity, minimal disruption, and alignment with governance and security requirements.
  • Monitor Microsoft 365 service health, usage, and performance using the M365 Admin Center, SharePoint Admin Center, and Teams Admin Center, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Manage configuration changes, feature releases, and enhancements across M365 collaboration services, ensuring changes align with organizational governance and are clearly communicated and documented.
  • Implement and support security and compliance controls related to collaboration workloads, including conditional access, MFA, DLP, sensitivity labels, retention policies, and secure external sharing, in collaboration with cybersecurity teams.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support and troubleshooting for SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and related M365 collaboration issues, including permissions, access, synchronization, performance, and data recovery.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, operating procedures, governance models, and runbooks for Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms and administrative processes.
  • Participate in enterprise mobility, telephony, and device initiatives where they intersect with Microsoft Teams, collaboration workloads, and user experience.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands?on Microsoft 365 administration experience, preferably within large or regulated enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience administering SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, and Exchange Online.
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments (on?premises and cloud).
  • Strong analytical and problem?solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • PowerShell scripting experience is considered an asset.
