Role Overview
The Branch Manager / Key Account Manager will be responsible for building and growing the Canadian operation, combining business development, client management, and branch leadership.
This role requires someone who can generate revenue, develop strategy, and build a local presence in close collaboration with a global head office.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Engagement
Identify and secure new business opportunities within oil sands and mining
Leverage and expand your network to drive early growth
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Lead the full sales cycle including meetings, proposals, and follow-up
Position customized technical solutions to meet client needs
Market & Strategy Development
Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for Canada
Provide insights on client needs, competitors, and industry trends
Work with global teams to align solutions and commercial approach
Branch Development
Establish and grow the Canadian business presence
Support the setup of office and operational infrastructure as the business scales
Build relationships with local partners and suppliers
Contribute to long-term growth and expansion planning
Operations & Reporting
Manage day-to-day commercial activities independently
Report on progress and performance to global leadership
Support budgeting and business planning
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Commerce, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Technical insight/experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, technical sales, or similar
Minimum of 5 years of commercial experience, preferably in an international environment.
Background in oil & gas, oil sands, mining, or industrial sectors
Strong existing network in Western Canada
Technical understanding with the ability to interpret drawings or specifications
Proven ability to develop new business and manage key accounts
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Hands-on mentality and willingness to build a branch operation from the beginning.
Good command of English; additional languages are considered an advantage.
