Join our dynamic team as a Construction Lead (Facilities) where you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a Project for our client in the oil and gas industry. This is an exciting opportunity to lead construction activities in the upstream oil and gas industry, ensuring that all operations meet the highest standards of quality and safety while working in a beautiful remote location in Papua New Guinea.
Role Overview
- Coordinate all construction readiness activities associated with the Project, Gathering and Facilities scope.
- Act as the primary construction focal point for the scope.
- Assist with definition of the Early Works, Plant Shutdown and Main SMPE&I Construction Scope Packages, and develop associated tender packages.
- Accountable for the delivery of early works, plant shutdown, and main SMPE&I construction contracts during the Execute Phase.
- Establish a project safety culture by modeling health and safety values and ensuring compliance with HSE policies.
- Ensure adherence to Santos standards and specifications in construction solutions.
- Interface with Engineering Contractors, packaged equipment vendors, and construction contractors for timely delivery of scope.
- Travel to site, fabrication workshops, and contractor offices regularly to support project delivery.
- Support contracting/procurement activities and performance/quality management of contractors and vendors.
- Identify and address communication gaps or misalignment between key project stakeholders.
Education & Experience
- Qualifications in construction management or engineering.
- Relevant professional certifications in project or construction management are desirable.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering and project management roles within the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Experience in FEED and Execute project phases.
- Experience with brownfield construction projects.
