Airswift is looking for a Control Room Operator to work at an Oil and Gas company in Midland, TX to work on a 2+ years contract. 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Oil and gas production experience preferred

  • Strong computer proficiency required; experience with SCADA systems a plus

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Strong verbal and written communication, planning, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work 13-hour rotating day and night shifts

  • Capable of making sound, timely decisions under pressure

  • Collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset

Responsibilities


Operations Monitoring & Control

  • Monitor production facilities and well site locations in real time via SCADA system

  • Monitor takeaway pipelines, tank levels, and water pit levels to ensure safe operating thresholds

  • Monitor gas compression units and notify appropriate field personnel promptly to minimize downtime

  • Track and respond to abnormal operating conditions, initiating escalation procedures as needed

  • Coordinate emergency shutdowns and well interventions as directed by operations leadership

Alarm & Communication Management

  • Manage and prioritize incoming alarms, ensuring timely notification to appropriate field personnel

  • Handle all incoming phone calls professionally, routing information accurately and efficiently

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between field crews, operations teams, and management during shift

  • Maintain clear and detailed communication logs throughout each shift

Reporting & Documentation

  • Complete all shift reports and daily operational summaries as required by team management

  • Document equipment issues, alarms, and field personnel responses accurately in the operations log

  • Track production anomalies and flag trends for review by engineering and operations teams

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Partner with the SCADA team to identify opportunities and implement improvements to monitoring processes

  • Engage with cross-functional groups including production, engineering, and field operations to share observations and best practices

  • Participate in team meetings, safety reviews, and training initiatives to continuously develop operational knowledge

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all company SOPs, safety policies, and regulatory requirements at all times

  • Proactively identify and report potential safety hazards or operational risks

  • Support a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
