Penang | Regional Shared Services Environment

We are seeking an experienced Supervisor, Controlling & Accounting to join a growing Regional Shared Services Centre (RSSC) in Penang. This role will lead a team of accountants supporting accounting and controlling activities across multiple countries, driving process standardisation, efficiency, and service excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of accountants supporting accounting and controlling activities for assigned countries.
  • Assign, organize, and prioritize roles and responsibilities within the team.
  • Review team outputs to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with policies and standards.
  • Provide guidance and coaching on new group policies, work instructions, and regulatory or reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage monthly balance sheet reviews with regional and country stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with management to implement and drive standardised accounting and controlling processes across regions.
  • Promote process simplification and commonality in line with company policies and guidelines.
  • Lead and coordinate the migration of accounting activities from country entities to the shared services centre according to agreed timelines.
  • Drive cost efficiency, eliminate redundancies, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor team performance through defined KPIs, ensuring productivity and service quality.
  • Manage team engagement, motivation, resource planning, and operational efficiency.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide strong people leadership to a team of accounting professionals.
  • Work effectively across cultures and manage cross?functional and regional interfaces.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to build capability and performance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional accounting qualification is an advantage.
  • 5–7 years of experience in Accounting or Finance, preferably in a regional or shared services environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of people management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, controlling, and month?end processes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast?paced, transformational, and multicultural environment.
