Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
- Prepare electrical engineering deliverables including single-line diagrams, power distribution layouts, load lists, cable schedules, and equipment datasheets.
- Perform power system calculations such as load flow, short-circuit, voltage drop, and motor starting analysis.
- Design and review LV and MV electrical systems for marine vessels and offshore facilities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IEC, IEEE, and Marine Classification Society rules (e.g. ABS, DNV, BV).
Project Execution
- Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering teams including Instrumentation, Mechanical, Structural, and Naval Architecture.
- Support procurement activities such as technical bid evaluations, vendor documentation review, FAT/SAT participation, and technical clarifications.
- Review and approve vendor, subcontractor, and supplier drawings and technical submissions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Registered or eligible for registration with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is an advantage.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer in marine, offshore, or oil & gas projects.
- Hands-on experience in electrical engineering for vessels, offshore platforms, FPSOs, or offshore construction equipment.
- Familiarity with marine and offshore power generation and distribution systems.
