Senior Electrical Engineer — Power Systems & Energy Transition

Location: Bergen, Norway

Overview
Join our engineering team as a Senior Electrical Engineer working on technically challenging projects across carbon capture (CCUS), hydrogen and low?carbon fuels, offshore facilities, and floating LNG. You’ll be part of a compact, highly competent group delivering work from concept and FEED through detailed design, fabrication, installation and commissioning. This role focuses on electrical power systems and equipment for industrial and offshore applications and offers variety, growth opportunities and exposure to market?leading technology.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in electrical engineering for industrial or offshore projects.
  • Strong knowledge of high- and low-voltage power systems: transformers, switchgear, motor starters, distribution networks.
  • Ability to size and specify motors, drives, heaters and power-system components.
  • Experience producing and reviewing electrical deliverables: datasheets, calculations, technical reports, FEED documentation.
  • Vendor coordination and technical follow?up experience.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and acting as a technical discipline lead.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; ability to interface directly with clients and suppliers.
  • Structured, proactive, quality-focused working style and commercial awareness.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with electrolysers, fuel cells, battery systems or other energy?storage technologies.
  • Background in hydrogen production, green ammonia, LNG or CO2 handling systems.
  • Familiarity with offshore/floating systems and rotating equipment (turbines, pumps, large motors).
  • Knowledge of industry standards and the electrical equipment market relevant to oil & gas and energy transition projects.
  • Norwegian language is useful but not required.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum ~5 years’ relevant industry experience; experience in engineering design, vendor management or equipment manufacturing preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record delivering electrical scope across project phases (concept ? FEED ? detailed design ? commissioning).

Other Requirements

  • Based in Bergen (main office); some site visits and occasional travel required.
  • On-site presence expected for most work; may require initial training in Bergen if located elsewhere.
  • Right to work in Norway without visa sponsorship preferred (client will consider local candidates first).
  • Willingness to work with international teams and travel when project needs demand.
