Project information
The project is an underground main transport pipeline that will enable residual heat from the port of Rotterdam to be used to heat homes and businesses in the province of Zuid-Holland. The project is part of the Dutch energy transition away from natural gas.
Objective of the assignment
Independently carrying out, reviewing, and ensuring the realization of electrical engineering designs within the project, including technical guidance of engineering firms, suppliers, and site teams.
Where will you be working?
The primary location is Groningen or The Hague (depending on your preference). Flexible deployment is expected, with a willingness to travel and work at the headquarters in Groningen, combined with visits to locations in South Holland for consultations with engineering firms and site visits to installations. Hybrid working is possible.
What will you do?
Project support deliverables
Technical support overviews per project phase (concept – design – execution – commissioning).
Technical input documents for multidisciplinary consultations with internal teams, engineering firms, and suppliers.
Reviewed engineering documents from engineering firms and suppliers, including feedback on quality and timeliness.
Design, specification, and procurement deliverables
Technical specifications for all common electrical installations, prepared jointly with the engineering firm.
Lists of electrical components, such as:
cabinets
cables
earthing electrodes
cable trays
Drawings of electrical installations, including:
grounding diagrams
electrical circuits
Assessment reports of supplier design documentation (technical reviews).
Verification reports confirming that design documentation complies with standards and regulations.
Contributions to procurement documentation, such as technical input for purchasing and evaluations.
Fabrication, installation, and commissioning deliverables
Inspection reports / guidance notes for factory and acceptance tests at suppliers (based on collaboration with inspection services).
Technical responses to site questions, bundled into overview documents for the site team.
Handover notes for supervised tests and deliveries at suppliers.
Engineering firm support deliverables
Working agreements and schedule alignment with the electrical engineer from the engineering firm.
Status overviews of progress on office and fieldwork activities performed by the engineering firm.

Reviewed and updated technical documentation, including:
various installation lists
technical drawings
Documentation overview with status and revision levels.
Your profile

You possess solid theoretical and practical technical knowledge of electrical installations and enjoy working with other engineering disciplines.

You are capable of maintaining oversight of ongoing tasks and organizing your work well in order to effectively design, implement, and maintain high-quality solutions.
What we additionally value:
At least a completed bachelor’s degree (HBO level) in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a closely related field.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the process industry or at an engineering firm. Practical experience with industrial electrical process installations is a strong plus.
Knowledge of standards for industrial electrical installations.
Good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
