Join our dynamic team as an Electrical Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in optimizing electrical project designs for a leading energy sector client. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects in the Shaybah field, located in the heart of the Rub Al-Khali desert, ensuring compliance with international standards and enhancing operational efficiency.

Role Overview

  • Review design packages for electrical systems and equipment, including Power & Distribution Transformers, motors, generators, High voltage/low voltage switchgear/Motor Control Center (MCC), distribution network, control equipment, and power outlets.
  • Prepare the Project Design Basis Document as per the project scope.
  • Compile the entire project load lists based on the project scope.
  • Produce technical reports and specifications for electrical equipment not covered by Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES) and Material Specifications (SAMSS).
  • Manage electrical activities of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors during the Front-End Engineering Development (FEED) and design phase.
  • Conduct analysis of major equipment selected in the design package.
  • Review and respond to technical queries.
  • Monitor and review contractor performance and work quality.
  • Ensure contractor design work complies with standards (SAES, SAMSS) and applicable codes/regulations.
  • Assist Project Engineers in evaluating Material Requisitions (MR), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), and Award Recommendations (AR).
  • Review and evaluate Change Orders for compliance with standards and budget alignment.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Teams to ensure facility integrity concerning HSE.
  • Provide technical assurance for electrical discipline deliverables.
  • Prepare approvals of electrical engineering packages prior to construction issuance.
  • Lead initiatives for improvements in installations or modifications to enhance existing facilities.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with NEC, IEEE/ANSI, IEC, and other international electrical standards.
  • Proficiency in analogue and digital control systems including Power System Automation (PSA), Power System Management (PMS), DCS, ESD, PLC, and SCADA controls.
  • Experience with Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP) or similar software.
  • Strong analytical skills for conducting detailed studies and producing technical reports.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 20-25 years of experience in design, engineering, and construction; Aramco experience preferred.
  • Certification as a Professional Engineer is desirable.
