Job Summary
The Electrical Technician supports field electrical maintenance activities and electrical isolation (Lock Out Tag Out – LOTO) for lighting, air conditioning, motors, and related systems. This role involves hands-on electrical work, troubleshooting, and supporting safe operations in industrial or commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities
The Electrical Technician will:
- Provide guidance and technical support to junior technicians
- Assemble, test, maintain, and modify electrical equipment and control systems
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and identify causes of equipment failures
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
- Support and follow required LOTO procedures
- Document work performed and report equipment issues
- Recommend repairs, upgrades, or replacement of electrical equipment
- Communicate field conditions and solutions clearly to supervisors and team members
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in an electrical maintenance or related role
- Relevant electrical certification(s) or equivalent hands-on experience
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical issues clearly
- Team-oriented mindset with willingness to support others
- Ability to work under changing priorities and tight deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Preferred Experience
- High Voltage (HV) power transmission and distribution
- Electrical dispatch or operations support
- SCADA systems experience (Ignition, Wonderware, GE HMI, or similar)
- Familiarity with analytics or monitoring systems such as Seeq
- Experience with industrial instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems
- Exposure to AspenTech or ABB Xenon SCADA systems
