ENERGY PROJECT MANAGER
Location: Kyiv, Ukraine

Reporting to the Development Director, the Energy Project Manager will lead Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from early-stage development through Final Investment Decision (FID) and into execution. The role requires a hands-on, delivery-focused professional capable of operating in a high-pressure, accelerated environment, integrating engineering, commercial, and delivery strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Promote safe and professional conduct across all project development and delivery activities
Lead BESS projects through development, FID, and into execution phases
Drive aggressive timelines and ensure delivery against compressed project schedules
Manage and coordinate Owner’s Engineer, ensuring high-quality and timely outputs
Define project scope, technical specifications, and delivery strategy with a practical execution focus
Develop and maintain integrated project plans covering cost, schedule, engineering, and financing elements
Oversee transition from development into EPC phase and manage contractor mobilisation
Monitor project performance post-FID, ensuring alignment with delivery targets
Hold advisors, consultants, and contractors accountable to key milestones and deliverables
Identify, assess, and manage risks across all phases of the project lifecycle
Engage with key stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring effective communication and alignment
Operate effectively within a lean team environment, taking ownership of both strategic direction and hands-on execution
Drive decision-making in complex, fast-moving project environments
Requirements
Proven experience managing energy or infrastructure projects, ideally within BESS or renewable energy
Strong track record delivering projects from early-stage development through to execution
Experience managing Owner’s Engineer and EPC contractors
Solid understanding of project integration across engineering, commercial, and financing aspects
Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and deliver against aggressive timelines
Experience working in international and complex project environments
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Hands-on, delivery-focused mindset with the ability to operate in lean teams
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
