Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for an Asset Integrity Engineer/Technologist to join their team on a 1-year contract in Calgary.
Our Thermal Asset Integrity Team implements a wide variety of inspection, repair, risk assessment, and corrosion management activities to ensure that our Asset Integrity programs are executed with optimal effectiveness. As part of the team, you will interface closely with different operating areas in Thermal and work to leverage data learnings across the whole district.
Based in Calgary, Alberta, as an Asset Integrity Engineer or Technologist you will have the opportunity to deal with a wide variety of assets for the full life-cycle from design and commissioning through to close-down, and decommissioning, utilizing and developing your expertise across a broad range of processes, workflows and technologies. There is also the opportunity for real career growth in both Asset Integrity execution as well as development into a Subject Matter Expert.
Key Accountabilities:
- Implementation of strategic planning and continuous improvement projects to support the business demand of reliability and extended inspection intervals. Ex: leveraging previous inspection results into a predictive corrosion model.
- Provide direction, technical guidance, process development and strategic plans to continue the evolution of the Asset Integrity team and effective risk management systems
- Interface with existing Operations to ensure that current operational experience and lessons learned are leveraged into the pipeline programs.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Pipeline groups to ensure effective and efficient execution of maintenance programs
- Strong working knowledge of upstream pipeline integrity management. Working knowledge of pressure equipment integrity management considered an asset.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, integrity vendors, engineering contractors, and inspection contractors to manage integrity related issues
- For new construction, provide integrity input during the design & construction phases to ensure full life cycle reliability, inspectability, and sound integrity design practices.
- Ability to advocate for proposed integrity initiatives and to effectively communicate those needs to a broader, less technical audience.
- Root cause analysis on major failures and responsible to ensure that findings are communicated for mutual benefit the department.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of Pipeline Integrity experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized University coupled with discipline related experience and registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA (or eligible for registration)
- Technologist Diploma in Engineering from a recognized institution coupled with discipline related experience and registered as a Professional Technologist with APEGA/ASET (or eligible for registration)
- Working knowledge of the pipeline codes & standards: CSA Z662, provincial & federal jurisdictional directives
- Experience in the engineering, design, and/or operation of upstream oil & gas facilities an asset.
- Experience with pipeline maintenance work coordination
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications and integrity management software systems such as Accumap, Maxi-Trak, Abacus, or Maximo
- NACE or API Certifications are a definite asset
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and excellent safety attitude
