Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Operators / Field Operations Engineers to support production, storage, transportation, and processing operations within manufacturing, chemical, and oil & gas environments. This role requires strong field experience, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Candidates located in Midland, TX are preferred; however, candidates outside the area will be considered with the expectation of being onsite during the workweek.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering degree preferred (Associate’s or Bachelor’s)
- Industrial Engineering background a plus
- Manufacturing or chemical refinery experience preferred
- Due Process background
- Strong field operations experience
- Industrial safety experience
- Mechanical experience required
- Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) experience a plus
Key Responsibilities & Areas of Experience
Production & Process Operations
- Maintain stable production from wells and facilities
- Control and plan maintenance activities to minimize deferred production
- Process control, system design, modifications, and continuous improvement
- Pumping system design, control, and optimization
- Crude reception and loop control
- Inspection and accounting of production using LAND flow measurement and PD meters
- Generate daily production and performance reports
- Monitor and control:
- Diluent injection
- Gas injection
- Water injection and produced water
- Water treatment systems and water management for injection
- Cathodic protection monitoring for pipelines and tanks
- Gas and air compressor operations
Field Operations
- Surface and downhole pumping system control
- Progressive Cavity Pump (PCP) operations
- Electro?Submersible Pump (ESP) operations
- Oil rocker arm operations
- Variable Frequency Drive (VFD/AFD) configuration and operation
- PLC operation and basic management
- Well testing, sampling, and BSW (Basic Sediment & Water) analysis
- Leak detection, pressure testing, and well clean?up
- Fluid level verification and monitoring
- Control room coordination
- Pipeline pressure testing and leak checks
Instrumentation & Electrical
- Installation, calibration, and maintenance of measuring instruments
- Control valve installation and configuration
- Cable running, wiring, and cable combing
- Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Use of testing tools: clamp meters, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and meggers
- Reading and interpretation of electrical, instrumentation, pipeline, and process schematics
Safety & Compliance
- Preparation and control of work permits
- Safety evaluations and hazard identification
- Supervision of cold work and hot work activities
- Strong adherence to industrial and process safety standards
- Experience as safety lead preferred
Manufacturing & Mechanical Experience
- Assembly of refrigeration equipment, heat pumps, and refrigeration systems
- Pressure testing, depressurization, and leak testing
- Insulation coating and welding
- Refractory installation: blocks, insulation, and catalyst placement
- Maintenance and repair of refractory systems, bottom assemblies, and dog?leg structures
- Supervisor experience in refractory and insulation installations preferred
HVAC & Refrigeration (Preferred Experience)
- Air conditioning specialist background
- Preventive and corrective maintenance
- Installation of HVAC systems
- Compressor replacement
- Evaporator coil replacement
- Electrical troubleshooting for HVAC and refrigeration systems
Engineering & Technical Expertise
- Process simulation using PIPESIM Static Simulator
- Production optimization and system analysis
- Multiphase pump control
- Pipeline construction coordination
- Change management and procedure development
- Data interpretation and operational decision?making
Training & Skills
- PIPESIM Fundamentals & Production Optimization Workshops
- Progressive Cavity Pump training for operators
- Instrumentation training for operators
- Chemical and thermal oil treatment
- Strong computer skills (Windows, MS Office, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience repairing electronic equipment and cards

- 20+ years of experience in production, storage, and transportation of oil, gas, and water systems
- Proven field and operations background
- Safety?focused with strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Comfortable working across day and night shifts
- Willing and able to work onsite during the week
- 2 Day Shift Roles: 5/2 schedule
- 1 Night Shift Role: Starts on days, transitions to nights with schedule changes
- On-Call Rotation: Informal initially; will transition to a formal rotation
