Objective
Drive full operational and financial management of Factory, coordinating resources to achieve optimal quality, production volume, safety and financial outcomes as aligned with the business objectives to improve production deliverables and achieve sales and market share target levels.
Accountabilities
Finance:
- Full Profit & Loss accountability for the factory operations
- Preparation and management of annual budgets and forecasts
- Monitoring and control of production costs, labour costs, and material usage
- Identification and implementation of cost reduction initiatives
- Reporting financial and operational performance
- Inventory and working capital management for production materials
Business Process
- Factory, ISO, and other 3rd Party operational guidelines compliance
- Ensuring compliance with workplace safety and environmental standards
- Implementation of efficient production processes and procedures
- Supporting product development and new model introduction
Learning and Growth:
- Application and implementation of ANZEN and KAIZEN programs with tangible benefits realization
- Supporting ongoing staff training and development initiatives
Customer Service:
- Customer Delight is underpinned by service delivery and reliability
- Investigating and resolving quality issues and warranty claims

- Adequate boat material inventory and stock availability for distribution overseas & the Dealer network

- ANZEN issues and incidents are controlled and reduced with Zero workplace accidents recorded
- Staff engagement and retention
Customer Service:
Timely distribution of units with less than 1% boat returns and complaints from Customers achieved.
TASKS
- Personal and employee safety is the primary consideration in all assigned tasks and accountabilities.
- Monitor workplace conditions to ensure workforce remains compliant with company safety standards, process and regulation.
- Work in conjunction with National Maritime Authority to ensure the business operates within Maritime standards & requirements.
- Liaise with 3rd parties as required to Kaizen service delivery, resolve problems, identify countermeasures to enhance performance.
- Ensure suppliers operate in line with the delivery of contractual requirements and agreements.
- Ensure business stock take policies are adhered to routinely.
- Monthly reporting to update Management on factory progress against plan.
- Oversee the planning and management of factory production schedules.
- Oversee factory production and ensure quality and volume targets are maintained.
- Oversee and authorize the procurement of materials, maintaining a lean but agile material stock plan to support production.
- Ensure factory budget is maintained, including OPEX, CAPEX and P&L in line with business objectives and planning.
- Meet or exceed factory GP$ and GP% targets against Plan.
- Control operating costs below budget plan.
- Plan and implement rolling three year factory plans with National Yamaha Manager.
- Ensure production efficiency is maintained at or above target.
- Draft, approve and implement SOPs in line with business objectives and KAIZEN opportunities.
- Ensure critical infrastructure, tooling and equipment is maintained in line with company and manufacturer requirements.
- Implement factory Safety programs and procedures compliant with company SOP's to control ANZEN issues.
- Maintain an excellent working relationship and communication with suppliers handling stock issues to avoid delay in order process.
- Ensure full compliance with Anzen, quality & industry regulatory requirements for all products, services & work activities.
- Employee performance reviews and career path development plans for direct reports are completed as per the PMS cycle.
- Employee retention is maximised.
- Establishment and management of factory KPIs in line with business objectives.
- Maintain professional knowledge by attending educational workshops to develop growth opportunities.
- Respond promptly to all internal enquiries or requests via telephone, email or face-to-face communication.
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned by Senior Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Bachelor Degree Qualified in Engineering (Mechanical or Naval) and/or Business/Management
- Trade or Certificate relating to FRP production desirable but not essential
- Marine Drivers License (Commercial or Recreational)
- Manual Drivers License
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years experience as a Factory Manager or Production Manager
- Expert Knowledge and experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Expert knowledge on Safe Handling and Operation of Marine Craft.
- Expert financial, budget planning and business acumen.
- Strong computer literacy & working knowledge of MS Suite.
- Use of CAD software knowledge desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with specific attention to detail.
- Strong organizing, planning and coordination experience to achieve objectives.
- Demonstrable vendor/supplier engagement, relationship and network building skills and experience.
- Experience leading a large team and possess excellent team building, leadership & managerial skills.
- Critical & strategic thinking with the ability to work with & interpret data analytically.
- Anticipates & responds to organizational customer requirements and drives a collaborative approach to problem resolution.
