Field Operator II

Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)
Location: Northeast Midland, Texas
Schedule: 9/5 rotation

Field Operator II is a technical operations role within a field environment, focused on supporting safe and efficient day-to-day production activities, equipment care, and reliable shift handovers.

Role Context

This position supports operational activities in a field setting where equipment monitoring, maintenance support, and clear communication across shifts are essential to maintaining safe and efficient operations.

About the Role

The role contributes to the effective operation of wells and equipment by applying operating and safety procedures, supporting maintenance activities, and helping ensure continuity of operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement daily work objectives with a focus on housekeeping, safety, health, environmental, and security standards.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings and reported safety meetings.
  • Monitor wells and equipment to identify and implement corrective and optimisation actions.
  • Support equipment care and carry out simple maintenance activities.
  • Report alarm, emergency, or emergency shutdown system outages.
  • Provide clear handover information to support shift continuity.
  • Coordinate, control, and monitor maintenance jobs in line with corrective, predictive, and preventive planning.
  • Record relevant operational events and abnormal situations in the log book.
  • Take product samples for laboratory analysis and perform field laboratory tests.
  • Support emergency response activities and report incidents as required.
  • Provide basic facts on well producing problems, current production rates, and current well condition.
  • Ensure well problem diagnostics are complete before requesting Well Work intervention operations.
  • Maintain wellhead and well surface equipment in good working order before intervention operations.
  • Provide assistance and support to ongoing Wellwork operations as needed.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Completed secondary education and worked previously as a Field Technician.
  • Strong communications (oral & written).
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline operations.
  • Strong knowledge of safety and operations management tools and processes.
  • Broad knowledge of Emergency Preparedness Procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of Project Philosophy and Design Specifications.
  • Knowledgeable of relevant regulations.
  • Knowledgeable of relevant commercial agreements.
