Join a top Banking & Finance leader as a Finance Partner. This is a full-time position based in Port Moresby.

Position: Finance Partner
Purpose: The Finance Partner acts as a key link between Finance and the business units, supporting financial management, governance, and decision-making. The Finance Partner works closely with senior stakeholders to provide insights, analysis, and advice that enable informed decisions. This role focuses on delivering accurate financial information, supporting planning and forecasting processes, and contributing to operational and strategic discussions. 

Key Results Area (KRAs) or Key Deliverables

  1. Co-pilot to the business unit leadership team and GMs through providing financial and strategic advice 
  2. Prepare and deliver accurate management reports, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  3. Complete and own the budgeting and planning processes for the business units they support, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives.
  4. Identify and communicate financial risks and opportunities within the business unit.
  5. Maintain compliance with risk management policies and internal controls.
  6. Collaborate with other Finance teams to improve processes and reporting quality.
  7. Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and decision-making.
  8. Provide professional and ethical behaviour in all actions, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies

Requirements

  • Bachelors (or higher) Degree or higher in Business, Accounting, or Economics from a recognized tertiary institution
  • Professional certification with CPA PNG or equivalent international certification    Essential:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights
  • Understanding of financial management policies and methodologies
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial systems
  • Financial modeling and scenario analysis techniques
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for financial reporting and planning
  • Knowledge of stakeholder engagement and communication techniques for financial discussions
  • Ability to leverage automation tools for process improvement and efficiency

Desirable:

  • Data visualization and dashboard creation using tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Exposure to the issues and challenges in the banking industry.
  • At least 3-5 years management or financial accounting experience in the financial services industry or the profession, or 6 years senior accounting experience in another industry
  • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes
