We are supporting a major offshore operator in the search for an experienced Offshore Well Productivity Manager to join a high-impact production environment in Mexico.
This role is critical to maximizing actual production and asset value by bridging the gap between well potential and real performance through strong technical analysis, economic prioritization, and fast execution.
Role Objective
Maximize well production and asset value by identifying productivity constraints, quantifying incremental barrels, and prioritizing technical interventions that convert reservoir potential into safe, efficient, and profitable production.
This role transforms well performance deviations into concrete, value-driven actions supported by numerical simulation, risk, cost, and execution logic.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze well performance to identify concrete production uplift opportunities.
- Diagnose productivity performance using production data, pressure tests, well tests, and logs.
- Evaluate technical well potential through nodal analysis, inflow/outflow modeling, and artificial lift system reviews.
- Identify and prioritize flow restrictions and damage mechanisms such as formation damage, scaling, emulsions, solids deposition, and mechanical constraints.
- Assess well–reservoir interactions including water/gas coning, channeling, pressure behavior, and fluid mobility.
- Design and recommend optimization solutions: stimulations, cleanouts, configuration changes, operational adjustments, artificial lift redesigns, or major well interventions.
- Provide technical support for well intervention planning (workovers and major repairs), ensuring maximum production return and minimal deferment.
- Implement continuous well surveillance, tracking early alerts, intervention results, and gaps between potential and actual production.
- Act as a technical interface between G&G, Production, Operations, Drilling & Completions, Facilities, and Maintenance teams.
Technical Requirements
- Strong background in well productivity engineering: PI/IPR analysis, nodal analysis, well–reservoir modeling (inflow/VLP).
- Solid understanding of multiphase flow (oil, gas, water) and its impact on well performance.
- Expertise in formation damage mechanisms (fines, scaling, paraffin, asphaltenes, emulsions, fluid invasion).
- Experience diagnosing and mitigating water and gas production issues.
- Proficiency in well testing, pressure analysis, and production interpretation.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical mindset with business-oriented technical judgment.
- Results-driven approach and ability to prioritize high-value opportunities.
- Clear executive-level communication.
- Ability to work cross-functionally under operational pressure.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 10–15 years of experience in well productivity and optimization.
- Proven offshore field experience.
- Strong track record in productivity improvement, artificial lift, and impactful well interventions.
