GIS Data Operator (Projects & Data Maintenance)

Role Overview
A leading infrastructure organisation is seeking a GIS Data Operator to support the accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement of its network-related geospatial data. This role sits within the Data Management department and plays a key part in maintaining high?quality asset information for operational and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update essential geospatial datasets for new construction projects and network modification works.
- Incorporate as-built information, including pipeline data, surface levels, and asset features (markers, accessories, etc.).
- Verify and process field measurement data, including xyz positioning, and update central databases accordingly.
- Produce technical drawings, schematics, layout plans, and scaled maps (1/10,000 and detailed plans).
- Monitor and support internal data-related projects within the Data Management team.
- Act as the primary contact for several branch offices regarding as-built data updates.
- Contribute to training materials, documentation, and internal knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with Asset Data Experts to improve tools, processes, and GIS/IT applications.
Profile & Skills
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in geomatics (preferred), geography, geology, or a related field.
- Initial professional experience in a similar role is an advantage.
- Knowledge of field measurement techniques is highly valuable.
- Familiarity with GIS systems, relational databases, and related technologies is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical ability, accuracy, and a structured working approach.
- Able to work independently while maintaining strong team collaboration.
- Eager to learn, proactive, and solution oriented.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focus mindset.
- Native-level proficiency in one national language and good command of the second.
