Head of Planning
Key Job Accountabilities
- Provide management and technical direction for planning/scheduling functions, including schedule risk, analysis, reporting, productivity, and impact assessment
- Manage the project planning/scheduling team and coordinate inputs from engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and interface teams
- Ensure effective execution of planning and scheduling processes by contractors and subcontractors
- Manage preparation of project control deliverables related to planning and scheduling in line with project management systems
- Ensure implementation and continuous improvement of planning/scheduling procedures
- Oversee collection, consolidation, analysis, and reporting of progress data, including schedule delay and recovery analysis
- Manage project changes and ensure schedule impacts are properly assessed and incorporated into overall reporting
- Evaluate contractor performance in planning/scheduling and ensure alignment with project requirements
- Act as the primary interface between management and contractors on planning/scheduling and reporting matters
Mandatory Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Knowledge and/or Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in project control within EPC capital projects, primarily in planning and scheduling
- Strong knowledge of project controls principles, methodologies, and best practices
- Experience on major projects from owner and/or contractor perspectives
- Experience managing EPC lump sum contracts and working with multicultural teams and large subcontractors
