Job Title
Instrument & Control (I&C) Engineer

Location: Bergen, Norway

Overview
Join a skilled, agile engineering team delivering projects across new energies, carbon capture (CCUS), hydrogen, LNG and offshore oil & gas. As an Instrument & Control Engineer you’ll own I&C engineering from early studies and FEED through detailed design, vendor follow?up, installation and commissioning. This role offers variety (concept work, process modules and turnkey deliveries), exposure to safety?critical systems, and a chance to contribute to the energy transition within a compact, collaborative organisation based in Bergen.

Required Skills

  • Strong competence in field instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical).
  • Proven experience in control systems: DCS, PLC and SIS design and architecture.
  • Ability to produce control narratives, cause & effect diagrams, I/O lists, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams and hook?ups.
  • Experience with control logic inputs, FAT/SAT support and vendor package follow?up.
  • Working knowledge of safety systems (ESD, Fire & Gas) and integration of safety?critical systems.
  • Excellent multidisciplinary coordination skills (electrical, mechanical, process).
  • Strong English communication (verbal and written); able to interface with clients and vendors.
  • Structured, solution?oriented, proactive approach and ability to work in a fast?paced EPC environment.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Hands?on experience with specific DCS/PLC platforms (vendor names) and engineering tools used for I&C design.
  • Background in hydrogen, green ammonia, or CO2 capture equipment.
  • Experience with large motors, switchboards and transformer interfaces.
  • Norwegian language skills (helpful but not required).
  • Previous involvement in offshore or floating LNG projects.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum ~5 years’ relevant industry experience in instrumentation, automation or control engineering — ideally within oil & gas, LNG, CCUS, hydrogen or related process industries.
  • Demonstrated track record on multidisciplinary EPC projects.

Other Requirements

  • Full?time, permanent position (typical 40 hours/week).
  • On?site based in Bergen (initial training and most work in Bergen; some site work and occasional travel may be required).
  • Right to work in Norway required (no visa sponsorship).
  • Willingness to travel or work from other locations when project needs demand.

Why this role
You’ll work with a compact, technically strong team on projects that span conventional and emerging energy sectors. The company values growth opportunities, cross?discipline collaboration and innovation — all within a supportive environment that rewards performance.

If you’re an experienced I&C engineer excited by varied projects across CCUS, hydrogen and energy transition technologies, we’d love to hear from you — apply now to take the next step in your engineering career.
