Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
- Prepare instrumentation engineering deliverables including instrument datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, cable schedules, and instrument index.
- Develop and review control and safety system documentation such as cause & effect charts, logic diagrams, and interface documentation.
- Specify and select field instruments including pressure, temperature, flow, level, and analytical instruments suitable for marine and offshore environments.
- Ensure instrumentation design complies with applicable IEC, ISA, API, and Marine Classification Society rules (e.g. ABS, DNV, BV).
Project Execution
- Coordinate with Electrical, Process, Mechanical, and Control System disciplines to ensure integrated and consistent design.
- Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations, vendor documentation review, and technical clarifications.
- Review and approve vendor and subcontractor drawings and technical submissions.
- Participate in FAT and SAT activities for packaged equipment and control systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation / Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is an advantage.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an Instrument Engineer in marine, offshore, or oil & gas projects.
- Experience in instrumentation design and engineering for vessels, offshore platforms, FPSOs, or offshore construction facilities.
- Exposure to working on EPC/EPCI projects or vessel conversion projects is preferred.
