Position Overview

This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day inventory material activities, ensuring materials are received, stored, moved and issued safely and efficiently. The role requires a strong technical approach to material handling, inventory control and quality inspection within an operational site environment. This opportunity involves regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders while supporting regional material movement and disposal activity. A high level of accuracy, organisation and safety awareness is essential.

Role Context

This opportunity sits within the energy sector, supporting a company involved in international oil and gas exploration and production, as well as major chemical manufacturing operations in North America. The role is based in a hands-on operational environment where material control, safe handling practices and coordination across teams are critical to site performance. Daily travel is required as part of the working routine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day handling of inventory materials, including receiving, storing, issuing and moving stock within or near the work site.
  • Inspect materials for quality issues or defects and identify items accurately by part number or written description.
  • Load, unload and manually move materials to and from pallets, shelves, storage areas and designated work locations.
  • Count, weigh and record units of material moved or handled on daily production records.
  • Attach labels or identifying tags to materials and mark containers with relevant information where required.
  • Support regional material movement and disposal activities while maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all site safety rules and regulations.
  • Assemble crates for product containment where required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong analytical ability with advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience in material handling, inventory control or warehouse-related operations within a technical or industrial environment.
  • Ability to inspect, identify and manage materials accurately using part numbers and written descriptions.
  • Capability to work in a physically active role, including standing for extended periods and lifting materials up to 50 pounds repetitively.
  • Strong attention to detail, record-keeping ability and commitment to safe working practices.
  • Ability to travel daily as required by the role.
