Overview
The IT Support Engineer assists in the design, coding, review, analysis, and modification of technical solutions. This role primarily interacts within the immediate team, with limited exposure to business leadership, and operates under supervision following established procedures and guidance from more experienced colleagues.
The position plays a key role in maintaining IT operational effectiveness within the trading environment by providing first-level support across a range of systems and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective IT floor support to resolve immediate operational issues and minimize disruption
- Perform first-level troubleshooting across:
- Windows OS and PC hardware
- Network systems
- Microsoft 365 (Office suite)
- Exchange and Active Directory
- Trading-specific applications and analytics platforms
- External information services
- Online trading systems and in-house applications
- Act as the local point of contact / go-to resource for IT support
- Support and mentor new employees and contractors during onboarding
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with:
- Trading business users
- IT Service Desk and internal IT teams
- External vendors
- IT management
- Collaborate with global IT teams (Service Assurance, Enterprise Services, Application Operations) to resolve operational issues
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and equipment processes
- Assist with local deployment of software and hardware rollouts
- Provide support during annual Business Continuity testing
- Balance user needs with IT policies and governance
- Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, systems, and processes
