Junior Quantity Surveyor
Duration: 12 month initial contract

Position Overview
This position offers the opportunity to join a leading engineering project delivery team on an initial 12 month contract, with the potential for longterm extension. The role will provide contract management expertise and quantity surveying support across various building works and packages. The successful candidate will contribute to contract management, subcontracting activities, and procurement processes, ensuring compliance with project execution plans and supply chain requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide contract management and quantity surveying support for building works, mechanical ductwork, and electrical & instrumentation work packages.
- Assist in preparation and issuance of documentation including Non-Disclosure/Confidentiality Agreements, Expressions of Interest, Bidders Lists, Request for Information, Request for Proposals, Invitation to Tender, and associated evaluation plans.
- Handle queries from bidders, coordinate responses, and organize worksite visits.
- Support bid evaluation processes and provide assistance to clarification meetings.
- Assist in preparation of contract documentation and award recommendations.
- Participate in pre-construction kick-off meetings and manage correspondence, registers, securities, and contractual deliverables.
- Ensure contractual compliance and provide support to contractor progress meetings.
- Review applications and invoices for contract compliance, coordinate reviews and approvals, and assist with site measurement duties.
- Adhere to company and customer policies, standards, and governance in contract management activities.
- Participate in accident investigations and uphold high standards of health, safety, and environmental practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering, or other relevant subject. HNC/HND/NVQ qualifications may also be considered.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ideally, three to five years of relevant post-study working experience within industrial engineering environments, such as oil & gas, chemical, or process plants.
- Experience in managing precontract processes including preparation of tenders and contract selection.
- Experience in managing post-award processes including contract administration, change control, claims, final accounting, and dispute resolution.
- Strong knowledge of standard contract forms (e.g. FIDIC, IChemE, LOGIC, NEC, etc) and contractual risk.

- Ability to convey arguments and propositions clearly.
- Proficiency in software and reporting systems such as CRM, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Teams.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Capability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of construction methods, industry codes, national standards, and customer specifications.
- Understanding and interpretation of commercial contracts and relevant statutes.
