Job Title: Laboratory Technician / Pilot Plant Laboratory Specialist

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Professional to support plant operations through routine and non?routine laboratory analyses, wet chemistry, and pilot plant activities. In this role, you will assist laboratory supervisors and chemists by ensuring accurate, timely testing of product and in?process samples, maintaining high standards of quality assurance and control. The position requires strong technical ability, mechanical aptitude, and the capacity to operate with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine and non?routine laboratory analyses on product and in?process samples to support plant operations.
• Utilize LIMS to compile, record, and enter all analytical data.
• Carry out calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
• Prepare samples, reagents, stock solutions, and testing standards in accordance with SOPs.
• Conduct and support quality assurance/control testing using a variety of analytical instruments.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment through regular housekeeping and Loss Prevention Self Assessments (LPSAs).
• Participate in Test Method Assessments (TMAs) and Loss Prevention Observations (LPOs) to uphold proper testing procedures and safety standards.
• Prepare laboratory equipment and verify readiness prior to conducting tests.
• Troubleshoot issues or repeat analyses when results fall outside control limits (OCC—Out of Control).
• Perform fuel analysis (jet fuel, gasoline, diesel) to ensure product readiness for downstream processes.
• Operate and maintain two extraction units in a pilot plant environment.
• Collect fluid samples, perform fluid transfers between frac tanks and 300?gallon totes, and make unit adjustments as requested by test owners.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (4?year) in a science or technology discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands?on troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to follow detailed technical instructions accurately.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for reporting updates and documenting technical work.

Preferred Qualifications
• High technical proficiency with complex lab or pilot plant equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Strong team player with adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
• Prior experience in quality control systems is a plus.
• Computer literacy, including familiarity with laboratory data management tools.
