Role Overview

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Lead Construction Planner is responsible for the development, management, and control of the integrated construction schedule supporting the delivery of a major Carbon Capture project.

The role focuses on ensuring robust planning, schedule integrity, and effective progress tracking throughout the construction phase. This position plays a key role in aligning engineering, procurement, and construction activities, ensuring milestones are achieved and supporting efficient, schedule

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote planning excellence and schedule discipline across all construction activities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of Level 3 and Level 4 schedules using Primavera P6

  • Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning schedules

  • Develop construction sequencing, work packaging strategies, and execution plans

  • Monitor contractor progress against baseline schedules and identify risks and delays

  • Perform critical path analysis and implement mitigation and recovery actions

  • Prepare weekly and monthly planning reports, dashboards, and performance metrics

  • Facilitate planning meetings, progress reviews, and look

  • Assess the impact of change events and variations on the project schedule

  • Ensure compliance with project controls processes, procedures, and governance

  • Support and mentor junior planners and planning engineers

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Lead or Senior Planning role on large

    scale industrial or energy projects

  • Experience within carbon capture, power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors preferred

  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6

  • Strong understanding of construction planning, sequencing, and project controls

  • Experience working in live construction environments and coordinating multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to interpret technical information to produce accurate schedules and forecasts

  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

  • Ability to work full

  • Professional accreditation such as APM, PMI, or equivalent is advantageous
