Airswift is looking for a Lead Planner to support a major client in Port Arthur, TX on a 12-month assignment

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Planner to support maintenance and turnaround activities at a large, complex refinery. This role is responsible for leading planning efforts across multiple operating units simultaneously, ensuring all work is thoroughly prepared, properly resourced, and executed safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate brings extensive refinery experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage high volumes of work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.



Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee planning activities across multiple refinery units, balancing priorities and workload effectively

  • Develop, review, and approve detailed job plans, including labor estimates, materials, tools, and safety requirements

  • Ensure all job packages are complete, accurate, and ready for execution without delays or rework

  • Coordinate closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractors to align on scope, sequencing, and schedules

  • Play a key role in turnaround (TA) planning and execution, managing large and complex scopes of work

  • Drive consistency, quality, and standardization across planning processes and teams

  • Identify risks, constraints, and scope gaps early and implement solutions to prevent impacts to execution

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to planners and planning teams

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures, permitting requirements, and refinery standards

Scope of Work:

  • Multi-unit refinery operations including both routine maintenance and large-scale turnaround work

  • Rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines)

  • Fixed equipment (towers, vessels, exchangers)

  • Piping systems, valves, and associated mechanical systems

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in refinery maintenance planning, with a proven ability to support multiple units simultaneously

  • Strong background in turnaround planning and execution within a high-volume refinery environment

  • Deep understanding of refinery equipment, processes, and operational constraints

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, isometrics, and technical drawings
