Position Overview

This opportunity is suited to a technically strong inspection professional with extensive experience in coordinating inspection activities for complex equipment packages within the oil and gas sector. The Senior Inspector / Lead Inspection Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that equipment and services are inspected and delivered in full compliance with contractual requirements, budget, quantities, quality expectations, and project specifications. The role focuses on managing and monitoring inspection and test plans (ITPs) for critical FPSO packages (such as large mechanical and rotating equipment, modular skids, and process units), ensuring vendor compliance from order execution through to final delivery.

Role Context

This position operates within a project environment supporting critical FPSO package delivery scopes. The role interfaces across vendors, inspection agencies, project teams, and logistics stakeholders and is closely aligned with Package Management, Procurement, Engineering, Expediting, and Quality functions. A key principle of this role is the “no carry-over work” policy, ensuring that all inspection activities are completed prior to material release, with a strong focus on closing punch lists and outstanding work items.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate inspection activities for assigned package scopes, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, specifications, and applicable quality standards.

  • Review supplier inspection and test documentation and support alignment with project and client requirements.

  • Attend kick-off and pre-inspection meetings and participate in key inspection stages at supplier premises where required.

  • Coordinate third-party inspection activity and ensure inspection steps are completed in line with project expectations.

  • Monitor inspection findings and escalate critical quality issues to relevant project stakeholders in a timely manner.

  • Review inspection reports, non-conformance documentation, release notes, and punch list status to support effective quality control.

  • Liaise with engineering, construction, client representatives, certifying authorities, and suppliers to support inspection readiness and execution.

  • Support the establishment of inspection levels and inspection matrices for complex package delivery.

  • Monitor HSSE matters within the inspection scope and act appropriately when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a university, engineering school, or commercial school.

  • At least 7 years of inspection coordination experience.

  • At least 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry handling complex packages such as gas compressors, gas turbines, process modules, or similar equipment.

  • Strong understanding of oil and gas quality standards and inspection test requirements for complex equipment.

  • Strong knowledge of quality documentation including inspection and test plans, technical specifications, FAT procedures, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance plans.

  • Experience as a field inspector would be advantageous.

  • Qualifications in NACE, NDT, or ComEx (EX) would be beneficial.

  • Strong organisational, communication, leadership, and time management skills.

  • Flexible approach, proactive mindset, and willingness to travel.

  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
