Our client is seeking a Logistics Specialist / Expeditor to work within their facilities located in Midland, Texas on a long-term assignment (with possibility of extension / becoming permanent).
Responsibilities
Analyze oil and gas drilling, completion & production schedules, as well as break-in demand, and coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to schedule.
Review and approve documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications. - Review and approve documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
Revise production schedule, when required, due to design changes, labor or material shortages or other interruptions.
Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments.
Confer with establishment personnel, vendors and customers to coordinate production and shipping activities and resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 10+ years related experience required, 5+ years related experience in Oil & Gas transportation.
- Ability to accurately interpret, calculate, prioritize, and execute against customer demand signals and transportation requirements.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials.
- Strong ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production. Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Work Schedule: 21/21 rotation
