This role involves shaping technical solutions, leading mechanical activities, and ensuring robust, high quality project execution across diverse and demanding assignments, with a strong focus on rotating equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical design and engineering across all project phases, from early concept development and detailed design to manufacturing, installation, and operation
- Act as Mechanical Lead in projects, ensuring technical quality and efficient execution
- Deliver mechanical discipline documentation within budget, scope, and schedule
- Develop and review mechanical philosophies, specifications, and design requirements
- Specify, select, and size rotating mechanical equipment
- Follow up equipment suppliers through all project phases, including technical clarification, documentation review, and quality control
- Develop and verify mechanical deliverables such as datasheets, calculations, technical reports, study / FEED documentation, and system descriptions
- Coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated, high quality project execution aligned with cost and schedule targets
- Act as a mechanical specialist towards clients, providing technical guidance
- Contribute to continuous improvement by developing methodology, tools, and competence within the mechanical discipline
Qualifications
- Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
- Extensive experience with rotating machinery such as compressors, pumps, and turbines
- Background from engineering, vendor follow up, or manufacturing within oil & gas, renewable energy, or other process industries
- Strong technical understanding of rotating equipment design, performance, and operability
- Ability to take technical leadership and drive decisions
- Experience working in multidisciplinary environments
- Commercial awareness and ability to balance technical and business considerations
- Structured, proactive, and self driven working style
- Knowledge of the rotating equipment market and industry trends
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in direct dialogue with clients and vendors
- Fluent verbal and written English
- Flexibility to travel or work from other locations when required
