Mechanical Engineer (Stutdown)

Location: Marchienne (Charleroi) in Belgium (close to the French border)
Contract: Around 15 months 
Rotation / Set up: Monday to Friday 
Expected starting date: Mid-July 2026

This is an exciting opportunity to work onsite in Charleroi, Belgium, within a leading industrial sector that values innovation and efficiency. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of critical maintenance activities.

Role Overview

  • Shutdown Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive plans for major maintenance shutdowns.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of the shutdown are executed efficiently.
  • Technical Support: Provide mechanical engineering support during the shutdown process.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and outcomes.
  • Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the allocation of resources and materials for the shutdown.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechanical Expertise: Strong background in mechanical engineering principles and practices.
  • Shutdown Experience: Proven experience in planning and executing maintenance shutdowns.
  • Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.

Education & Experience

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in mechanical engineering or maintenance management are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in maintenance and shutdown operations.
