About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Nitrogen Leak Testing Technician to join a specialist team supporting the oil & gas sector. This role focuses on high-pressure nitrogen leak testing and integrity verification of piping systems, vessels, and associated equipment, primarily within a workshop and controlled environment, with some site exposure as required.
You will play a key role in ensuring systems meet strict safety, compliance, and performance standards prior to commissioning and operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nitrogen leak testing and system integrity checks on piping, vessels, and equipment
- Set up, operate, and monitor high-pressure nitrogen testing equipment
- Conduct pressure testing, purging, and drying activities where required
- Identify and report leaks, pressure drops, or system faults
- Interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and technical specifications
- Maintain accurate test records, reports, and certification documentation
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with HSE policies and industry standards
- Support mobilisation, demobilisation, and preparation of testing equipment
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, engineers, and client representatives
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in nitrogen leak testing, pressure testing, or pre-commissioning activities
- Background in oil & gas, energy, or heavy industrial environments
- Strong understanding of pipeline systems, valves, and pressure systems
- Experience with high-pressure equipment and testing procedures
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Sound knowledge of safety procedures, risk assessments, and permit systems
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- Trade qualification in Mechanical, Fitting, Instrumentation, or related discipline (preferred)
- Relevant tickets/certifications (e.g., Working at Heights, Confined Space) highly regarded
- Valid driver’s licence
