Job Description – Offshore Instructor
Job Purpose
- Execute and support inspection activities during EPC and start-up phases through to handover to permanent operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of facilities through early defect detection in line with established policies, procedures, and targets.
Qualifications
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of in-service inspection experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, or related industries.
Technical & Business Skills
- Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of relevant inspection software tools and technical specifications.
- Experience with Meridium or similar data management systems.
- Awareness of Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies.
- Understanding of corrosion, corrosion control, and damage mechanisms.
- Basic knowledge of plant processes and materials used in industrial facilities.
- Familiarity with inspection techniques including:
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
- Penetrant Testing (PT)
- Radiographic Testing (RT)
- Advanced NDT methods
- Familiar with applicable international codes and standards.
- Certification in API 510 and/or API 570 is required; API 653 is an advantage.
