Job Title: Offshore Methods (Removal) Lead

Duration: Until October 2027

Location: Kingston upon Thames, United Kingdom

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

We are seeking an experienced Offshore Methods (Removal) Lead to support decommissioning activities, including preparation of the platform for removal. Experience in cutting operations and a strong background in heavy lifting are highly desirable. The role will be primarily based in Kingston, with occasional offshore travel, including work onboard vessels and others involved in cutting activities.

Role Overview

As an Offshore Methods (Removal) Lead, you will report to the Offshore Methods Manager and play a key role in the Project. You will be responsible for managing all methods engineering activities during the decommissioning phase, either directly or through a team, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of the project scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and coordinate the activities, workload, and priorities of the assigned methods engineering team, providing both technical and administrative guidance
  • Manage and oversee the working programme, ensuring implementation in accordance with approved plans, designs, and specifications
  • Interpret, implement, and optimise design solutions for offshore removal operations
  • Monitor and coordinate all phases of work progress, reviewing procedures, reports, and calculations from engineers to ensure quality and compliance
  • Liaise with offshore technical authorities and vessel management, providing technical support and guidance during operations
  • Ensure all checklists and installation records are completed accurately and submitted to the QC Coordinator
  • Organise and participate in design reviews to define optimal installation and removal methodologies
  • Attend onshore fabrication sites and perform inspections to ensure readiness for offshore execution
  • Participate in critical offshore activities to ensure they are performed according to methodology and capture lessons learned
  • Support offshore operations as a Field Engineer when required, both in shipyards and offshore during vessel campaigns

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (preferably Structural, Naval, or Mechanical)
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Methods Engineer, with a strong focus on offshore removal/decommissioning operations within oil & gas or related industries
  • Technical Skills: Experience in heavy lifting operations; cutting experience is highly desirable
  • Certifications: Valid OEUK certification and offshore survival certification (e.g. BOSIET/FOET)
