Project Context
This is a large-scale, strategically significant LNG development with an overall investment value of approximately $18 billion.
The onshore scope includes:
- Two LNG trains with a combined capacity of approximately 13 MTPA
- LNG and condensate storage facilities
- Marine infrastructure, including jetty and loading systems
- Power generation systems
- Utilities and early site infrastructure
The onshore EPC contract value is approximately $9 billion, with construction estimated at circa $4 billion.
Site personnel are expected to peak at approximately 15,000.
The OSBL Field Construction Superintendent – Power Generation supports the Area Manager in overseeing EPC contractor activities related to offsite and utilities (OSBL), with a primary focus on power generation systems and associated infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Demonstrate strong HSE leadership and promote a robust safety culture across client and contractor teams
- Ensure full compliance with all HSE requirements to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
- Support the Area Manager with all delegated responsibilities within the power generation scope
- Ensure team performance meets project standards and corporate expectations
- Foster a collaborative team environment built on trust, accountability, and continuous development
- Enforce a strict change control philosophy, allowing deviations only where safety or operability is at risk
- Ensure immediate reporting and escalation of incidents within the area of responsibility
- Monitor construction activities in line with project procedures through to system handover to commissioning
- Maintain strong working relationships with EPC contractors for both routine operations and critical issue resolution
- Support the development and review of execution plans, method statements, and construction procedures
- Maintain a strong on-site presence to reinforce safety, quality, and construction oversight
- Track construction progress, identify risks or delays, and propose mitigation strategies
- Support overall site management through coordination, reporting, and interface management
- Proactively identify risks and challenges, using technical expertise to recommend practical solutions
- Oversee pre-commissioning execution and support transition into commissioning, including SIMOPS management
- Participate in peer reviews, technical assurance activities, and project audits
- Monitor EPC contractor construction management systems for effectiveness and compliance
- Attend and contribute to construction planning and coordination meetings to ensure issue resolution
