Job Summary
The Principal Piping Designer will be responsible for leading and delivering piping design activities for major oil and gas projects. The role requires extensive experience in piping design, strong technical capability in 2D and 3D modelling tools, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to meet project and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead piping design activities for FEED, detailed design, and modification projects
- Prepare, review, and approve piping layouts, GA drawings, isometrics, and MTOs
- Ensure designs comply with applicable international codes, standards, and client specifications
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to piping designers within the team
- Coordinate with piping engineers, stress engineers, and other disciplines
- Perform model reviews, clash detection, and design optimisation
- Support constructability reviews and resolve site?related design queries
- Ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 18+ years of experience in piping design within the oil and gas industry
- Strong experience on onshore oil and gas projects
- Proven experience working within EPC / engineering consultancy environments
