Role Overview
Airswift is seeking a highly experienced Principal Process Engineer to join our client’s team. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality process engineering services while providing leadership and technical direction across complex, multidisciplinary energy projects.
The successful candidate will act as a Process Engineering Lead, ensuring engineering deliverables are executed in line with project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations—on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Project Delivery
- Manage and deliver process engineering services in compliance with client, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all work is executed on schedule and within budget.
- Define and manage project scope, ensuring alignment with change management processes.
- Participate in project meetings, prepare progress reports, and ensure adherence to checking and quality procedures.
- Identify discrepancies between client and customer requirements and proactively resolve them.
Technical Leadership
- Act as Process Engineering Lead on assigned projects.
- Provide technical guidance during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Oversee:
- Equipment and material requisitions
- Technical bid evaluations
- Purchase order preparation
Team Management
- Lead and supervise a team of process engineers.
- Define project requirements, allocate tasks, and monitor progress.
- Promote workshare where applicable to optimize project execution.
- Support and mentor junior engineers within the team.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain effective communication with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment across multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide clear technical direction and progress updates to stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay up to date with industry developments and innovations in process engineering and gas processing.
- Identify project risks, issues, and improvement opportunities, implementing effective solutions.
Required Experience & Skills
Technical Expertise
Strong experience in one or more of the following:
- Gas Processing
- Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD)
- Cogeneration / Gas-to-Power
- Extensive experience in multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM projects, ideally within Oil & Gas or Energy sectors.
- Deep understanding of process engineering fundamentals and cross-discipline interfaces.
- Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Tools & Systems
Proficiency in:
- MS Office Suite
- Industry-standard process engineering software
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work under pressure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) status (required or preferred depending on region).
- Previous supervisory or management experience is highly desirable.
