Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and updating process engineering deliverables, including:
- Heat & material balances
- Process flow diagrams (PFDs)
- Piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Equipment and instrument datasheets
- Perform basic process calculations, such as sizing of control valves, pumps, separators, and relief devices under guidance from senior engineers.
- Support development of process simulations using tools like HYSYS or UniSim.
- Participate in project engineering activities, including design reviews, model reviews, and safety studies (HAZID/HAZOP) as an observer or contributor.
- Assist with vendor document reviews, ensuring alignment with engineering requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and other disciplines to ensure cohesive and accurate design outputs.
- Support preparation of technical reports, design notes, and engineering documentation.
- Contribute to maintaining project databases, registers, and tracking logs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 1–4 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within the oil & gas or offshore sector.
- Basic understanding of topside process systems: separation, gas treatment, utilities, flaring, safety systems (advantage but not mandatory).
- Familiarity with process simulation tools (HYSYS/UniSim) and standard engineering calculation methods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication skills and willingness to learn from senior team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-driven project environment.
