Airswift is seeking a Materials & Services Buyer to support nuclear power plant operations through advanced procurement and supply chain services.

This role is responsible for sourcing materials and services, managing contracts, supporting planned and forced outages, and ensuring full compliance with nuclear, regulatory, and company supply chain standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced procurement services in support of power plant operations, including competitive bidding, bid evaluations, pricing analysis, and contract negotiations.
  • Issue, manage, and maintain purchase orders and contracts in the Supply Chain system in accordance with established processes and procedures.
  • Perform expediting activities, including tracking and maintaining purchase orders, resolving invoice mismatches, addressing pricing and quantity discrepancies, managing logistics issues, and resolving exceptions to contract terms and conditions with input from legal and other stakeholders.
  • Utilize Power Advocate and other sourcing tools to support bid events with limited direction from management.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that drive sustainable cost savings and inventory reduction initiatives.
  • Provide advanced guidance to business units regarding procurement processes, sourcing options, materials management strategies, transfers, cost controls, and issue avoidance.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with supplier agreements and acting as the primary liaison between suppliers and the Business Unit.
  • Analyze and evaluate supplier performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Support customer service functions, including responding to inquiries and providing material status updates to support work schedules.
  • Prepare and manage daily, monthly, and quarterly procurement and performance reports, utilizing analytics to support decision?making.
  • Support planned and forced outages, ensuring timely procurement, expediting, and availability of materials critical to plant operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal and state regulations, Duke Energy business standards, and nuclear procurement requirements.
  • Attain and maintain qualifications to approve purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders and contracts, and perform additional nuclear procurement functions as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience procuring materials and/or services in support of power plant or regulated industrial operations.
  • Knowledge of competitive bidding practices, bid evaluations, contract terms, and negotiations.
  • Experience with enterprise procurement systems, including Maximo/Emax, PASSPORT/CAS, and sourcing tools such as Power Advocate (preferred).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently with general direction from management in a nuclear supply chain environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree + 2 years of relevant experience OR Associate’s Degree + 4 years of relevant experience
    OR High School Diploma / GED + 6 years of relevant experience
