About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to support Upstream Operations through the delivery of end-to-end procurement, sourcing and contract management activities. This role will partner closely with operational and project stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies, negotiate commercial agreements, manage supplier performance and drive value across the supply chain.

The successful candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, contract management expertise and the ability to deliver procurement outcomes that support safe, reliable and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

  • Deliver end-to-end sourcing, contracting and procurement activities across assigned operational categories.
  • Develop and implement category and sourcing strategies that optimise value, manage commercial risk and support business objectives.
  • Lead competitive tender processes, supplier evaluations and commercial negotiations.
  • Prepare procurement strategies, tender documentation, commercial evaluations and contract award recommendations.
  • Identify and deliver cost optimisation opportunities, value improvements and process efficiencies.

Contract Management

  • Manage a portfolio of contracts supporting Upstream Operations.
  • Negotiate contract terms and commercial outcomes that appropriately balance risk and value.
  • Administer contracts throughout their lifecycle, including extensions, variations, claims and close-out activities.
  • Maintain contracts to a high standard, including management of contract values, terms, bank guarantees, variations and claims.
  • Ensure procurement records and contract information are accurately maintained within relevant systems.

Stakeholder & Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance against safety, service, quality, cost and delivery expectations.
  • Facilitate supplier performance reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide commercial advice and procurement support to operational stakeholders.
  • Support project procurement requirements, operational readiness activities and business improvement initiatives.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, governance requirements and delegated authorities.
  • Comply with Supply Chain standards and processes, ensuring requirements are met or appropriately modified where required.
  • Ensure sourcing and contracting activities comply with applicable Joint Venture agreements.
  • Support contract governance, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement, sourcing, contract management or a similar commercial role.
  • Previous experience within the oil and gas industry or a comparable industrial environment.
  • Strong experience managing tender processes, supplier negotiations and contract administration.
  • Experience using SAP and/or Coupa.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contracts and stakeholder groups simultaneously.
  • Strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business, Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
