Our client is seeking an Entry-Level Production Technician to work within their facilities located in Goldsmith, Texas on a long-term assignment (initially 7 months with possibility of extension / becoming permanent).

The Production Technician I (Well Runner) supports daily field operations by monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting oil and gas production equipment. This entry-level role is designed for individuals with 0-2 years of oil and gas experience who are looking to build foundational knowledge in production operations. The technician plays a critical role in ensuring wells and facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include routine inspection of wells, tanks, separators, and associated production equipment; identifying and resolving minor mechanical and operational issues; collecting and recording production data; and assisting with basic repairs and preventative maintenance.

  • This position requires working independently in the field while maintaining strong communication with operations and maintenance teams.

  • Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence while adhering to all company policies and regulatory requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of oil and gas or related field experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
  • Basic understanding of production equipment and field operations preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret gauges, simple schematics, and P&IDs is a plus
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, reporting, and communication
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to travel between field locations and work in outdoor environments

Work Schedule: 5/40 – Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
