Our client, a major Oil and gas company, is looking for an Cost Control Analyst to work on a 12 months contract in Houston, TX

Primary Focus:

A leader in energy industry in crude and natural gas transportation and gathering, has an immediate need for a Cost Control Analyst. This position will be responsible for providing Total Cost Control guidance, governance and support for Project Managers and project team members (engineering, procurement, construction, project management, support groups, contingency, escalation, etc.). This will require collaboration with your counterpart supporting the schedule control for the project. A successful candidate would also be expected to support implementation of all Project Control processes and procedures (Baselining, Change Management, Risk assessments, Lifecycle Stage Gates, Reporting).

This position will report directly to Supervisor, Project Controls, Core Programs. The Core Programs Controls Team supports maintenance projects. A qualified individual must have the ability to manage their time effectively to support 15 or more projects. Projects are generally one- or two-years duration and range from $300K up to $10MM. Most of the work is in the office with occasional travel to other offices or project sites.

Experience:

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in performing cost management and other project controls functions for multiple project assignments
  • Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial and/or Power industry experience preferred

Qualifications

  • Overall knowledge of Project Controls principles and practical application to effectively manage project progress and performance
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred (Business Administration, Engineering or Construction Management.)
  • Completion of a Certified Cost Engineer (AACE's CCC/ CCE) or Project Management Professional credential (PMP) is preferred
  • Proficient in Oracle, EcoSys, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Familiar with Power BI, OneDrive and SharePoint used for documentation and reporting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to respond to information needs and present in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience in using and enhancing cost controls tools and associated systems
  • Effective analytical skills with the ability to understand detailed workflows for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction
  • Ability to effectively prioritize a heavy workload, bringing forward well-developed recommendations to the Project Team
  • Manage work successfully with limited supervision and work effectively with others to achieve group results
  • Work with a team dispersed over multiple locations
