Project Engineer – NGL / Brownfield Projects
Location: Calgary, AB
Term: 1-year contract, likely to extend to ~2 years, with potential for further extension.
The Project Engineer will support a Project Manager providing technical support on larger project execution or periodically managing small projects. The Project Engineer will be the interface between operations and operations engineering team and contracted engineering and construction contractors for brownfield projects within NGL business unit. The Project Engineer will manage EPCM consultants by coordinating engineering and project activities, ensuring effective communication, and maintaining alignment with standards and Project Development and Implementation (PDI) processes.
Reporting Relationships:
The Project Engineer will report to the Director of Technical Services
Responsibilities:
EH&S and Compliance Performance
- Consistently perform responsibilities and duties to company's Core Values and all policies including the Environmental Policy and the Health and Safety Policy.
- Ensure that work is completed in compliance with all applicable operating or industry standards, codes, rules, regulations and company standards.
Project Engineering and Management
- Supporting a Project Manager, or for smaller projects be responsible, for the overall AFE and Project Development and Implementation (PDI) process; scope / design, cost estimates, reporting, and construction efforts of viable projects
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering activities across all project phases (FEED through detailed design and execution).
- Assist in the development and tracking of project scope, schedule, and deliverables.
- Thoroughly reviewing engineering deliverables and facilitate internal reviews
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of design deliverables.
- Monitor progress against schedule and identify potential risks or delays.
- Overseeing and actively managing the technical engineering and design of the project.
- Ensuring effective communication and coordination between all disciplines and project participants including all stakeholders
- Managing the design review and HAZOP processes to ensure that final design is in compliance with all applicable standards and regulations, and ensuring that this design addresses all safety, environmental, asset integrity, and operational concerns
- Supporting the commissioning and hand-over of projects from Project Development to Operations
- Creating and updating project schedules and forecasts throughout the project life cycle and providing monthly reports.
