Senior QA Specialist – Vendor Surveillance (Static Equipment)



Job Description


· Review and provide relevant technical comments on RFQ/MR/RFP.


· Being responsible for management of the inspection assignments for each of the individual POs assigned to him/her.


· Interface with others in the company (engineering, SM, asset integrity, maintenance, etc.) on a regular basis.


· Review Vendors and Sub-vendors’ ITPs (Inspection and Test Plan) to ensure that they meet the requirements of the project.


· Prepare and issue Inspection Assignments for Third Party Inspector activities. Assign competent inspector and mentor them for company specific requirements.


· Convene, coordinate and conduct the Pre-fabrication Meetings at the Vendor’s facility.


· Review Inspection Reports for compliance with assignment instructions aheynd PO requirements.


· Distribute inspection reports, IFL and signed ITP in a timely manner to the Project QA Lead / Project / Facility Engineers.


· Ensure all inspection activities are conducted in accordance with PO requirements and projects’ approved Inspection and Test Plans.


· Conduct and reports on interim and ad-hoc inspection visits to Vendors and Sub-Vendors, as required by the project.


· Oversee and assists in the resolution of Non-conformance Reports, outstanding items and inspection waivers raised against assigned POs


· Review content of Manufacturer Data Book to ensure that it meets project requirements


· Verify invoices for inspection hours & distance by comparing with inspection reports.



Qualifications


· Minimum 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance role.


· Bachelor degree or Technologist Diploma in Mechanical or Materials Engineering or equivalent, (registered or eligible for registration with APEGA or ASET is an asset).


· Familiarity with ASME and API Codes, CSA W47.1/W59 and other industry standards.


· Understanding of work related documents, including drawings, P&IDs, test procedures, etc.


· Strong soft skills and firm proficiency in writing and speaking in English.



Certifications


· Holding following certificates/credentials is not mandatory but will be considered as an asset:


o Registered Professional Engineer with APEGA


o CWB Level II or III welding inspector.


o API 510, 570, 653, 936, API SIFE, SIRE.


o ABSA ISI Pressure Vessel / Boiler.


o NACE CP, Coating certifications.


o ASNT/ CGSB level 2 or 3 for NDE.



Primary Location


· Calgary (with Traveling to Vendor Shops)


· 5/2 – Monday to Friday working day
