Role Synopsis
QC Inspection Supervisor will have the following general responsibilities:
Implementing safe and efficient execution of project scopes
Awareness and promotion of project goals in respect of HSE, cost, schedule & technical integrity
Direction, motivation, support and leadership to project team members and contractors.
Awareness and promotion of client P&O expectations of Safe Design and Quality Build and conformance to the P&O Operating Management System (OMS) requirements including risk management, continuous improvement and management of change.
Promoting an effective and collaborative working environment with a ‘One Team’ approach.
Ensuring lessons learned are captured and shared with the onshore management team
Providing exemplary leadership to contractors and vendors to facilitate successful scope delivery
Key Accountabilities
QC Inspection Supervisor will have the following specific responsibilities:
Providing QC witnessing during the Field Joint Coating (FJC), Procedure Qualification Testing (PQT), Weld Procedure Qualification (WPQ) and Welder Qualification Test (WQT) program prior to offshore execution
Managing and coordinating QC activities during pipeline installation aid fabrication scope
Providing technical support to commission the welding and pipe coating equipment onboard the PLBH
Manage and coordinate QC activities during the WQT onboard PLBH prior to the offshore phase
Providing support for the recruitment and training of the CLIENT QC Team for the pipeline installation works by PLBH
Managing all quality control aspects of the pipeline installation including welding, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), and FJC
Managing key interface with the onshore quality and engineering teams
Supporting the CLIENT Construction Vessel Representative (CVR) to provide daily reports/updates identifying status of work quality, safety, team behavior, areas of concern and suggestions for improvement.
Ensuring that all relevant quality documentation, testing and inspection results are properly documented, complete and handed over in accordance with the information handover specification.
Provide guidance, advice and training to project team, contractors, suppliers, inspectors and third parties as required to ensure understanding of the Project Quality objectives.
Review the contractor’s Inspection & Test Plans and other relevant quality documentation.
Identify Contractor’s and Sub-contractor quality risk and provide quality audit support
Coordinate any Independent Verification Body inspection activities on the pipelay barge
Facilitate the project activities to handle contractor queries, non-conformances, deviations and concession requests
Support implementation of the Right First Time program through proactive inspection, early identification of potential quality risks, and promotion of good fabrication practices.
Provide feedback to the AGT Subsea quality team regarding contractor performance, pipelay installation quality trends, and potential quality risks.
Essential Education
Degree qualified in technical or related discipline
CSWIP 3.2.1/3.2.2 Senior welding Inspector or equivalent (Essential)
CSWIP AUT Data interpretation (Preferred)
CSWIP or PCN Radiographic Interpretation or hold CSWIP 3.2.2 (Essential)
CSWIP/BGAS Site coatings, ICORR Pipeline Coatings Inspector or equivalent (Essential)
CSWIP QC coordinator (Preferred)

Essential Experience and Job Requirements
Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas or similar industry
A minimum of 10 years’ offshore experience in Quality Control and the management of QA/QC requirements for large-scale offshore projects
Direct offshore experience of pipe-lay barge operations with mechanized welding, AUT and FJC systems (Essential)
Previous experience of management and co-ordination of a QC Team
Exhibits understanding of CLIENT ’s engineering and construction practices and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality
Proactively demonstrates sophisticated decision-making and leadership skills
Ability to intervene in critical situations, to redirect focus and achieve the required result
A high level of proven communication, interpersonal and people management skills

Welding – CSWIP 3.2.1 / 3.2.2 or equivalent (current)
NDT – Level 2 in MT, PT, RT and UT (current), CSWIP RT Interpretation Level 2 or equivalent
Coating – CSWIP/BGAS Site coatings, ICORR Pipeline Coatings Inspector Level 2 or equivalent
ISO 9001 Lead auditor or API Q1 / Q2 Auditor
Expertise:
Knowledge of manufacturing, materials, subsea items fabrication and installation, SDSS and clad pipe welding
