Role Overview

We currently have an urgent requirement for international ROV crew due to ongoing PIA (Protected Industrial Action) affecting our construction vessels. We are seeking experienced and motivated ROV Pilot Technicians (Level I & II) with proven capability operating UHD, XLX, and Kyst ROV systems to support offshore operations across multiple global projects.


Key Responsibilities

ROV Pilot Technician – Level 1

  • Assist in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ROV systems.
  • Support senior pilots (Level 2/3) in offshore subsea operations.
  • Conduct pre-dive checks, launch and recovery support, and post-dive maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and system documentation.
  • Follow company procedures, safety protocols, and client requirements.
  • Assist with tooling integration and basic intervention tasks.

ROV Pilot Technician – Level 2

  • Pilot and operate ROV systems independently during offshore subsea operations.
  • Conduct inspections, survey work, and light intervention tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair ROV mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
  • Supervise and mentor junior crew (Level 1 technicians).
  • Ensure all operational equipment is maintained and ready for deployment.
  • Work closely with offshore teams, clients, and vessel crew to execute project objectives.

Required Experience & Skills

Essential (Both Levels):

  • Demonstrated offshore ROV experience.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following systems:

    • UHD ROV systems
    • XLX ROV systems
    • Kystdesign (Kyst) ROV systems
  • Strong understanding of subsea operations, equipment handling, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in dynamic offshore environments under pressure.
  • Valid offshore certifications (e.g., BOSIET/FOET, OGUK Medical or equivalent).

Additional Requirements by Level

Level 1:

  • Entry to early-career ROV experience.
  • Basic technical knowledge (mechanical/electrical/hydraulic).
  • Willingness to learn and develop under supervision.

Level 2:

  • Proven experience as an independent ROV pilot.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Capability to lead small teams and manage workload offshore.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant technical diploma or degree (engineering, electronics, marine, or similar).
  • Experience in construction support, inspection, repair, and maintenance (IRM), or survey work.
  • Familiarity with offshore construction vessel operations.

Work Environment

  • Offshore rotational assignments on construction vessels.
  • International travel required.
