Airswift is searching for a Safety Officer to join an offshore project (3-week) in Guyana.
Location: Offshore
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards onboard
- Implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs for offshore operations
- Conduct audits, inspections, safety meetings, and risk assessments
- Monitor and enforce Permit to Work (PTW) and safe work practices
- Lead incident reporting, investigations, and follow-ups
- Promote a strong safety culture focused on risk prevention and continuous improvement
- Deliver HSE training, inductions, and emergency response support
- Oversee pollution control measures and environmental compliance
- Support helideck operations, personnel transfers, and onboard safety protocols
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of HSE experience in offshore oil & gas operations
- Strong knowledge of international HSE standards (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001)
- Experience with Fire Fighting Equipment (FFE) and Lifesaving Appliances (LSA)
- Experience with helicopter operations and high-risk activities (e.g., hot work, confined space)
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Offshore certifications (BOSIET/FOET, Emergency Response training, etc.)
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
- Medically fit for offshore work
