Job Description
Office is located in downtown Calgary. In this role, you will support the safe, reliable, and efficient movement of products across the pipeline systems by coordinating and optimizing daily and monthly scheduling activities. This position blends commercial acumen with operational awareness and requires strong collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
The Pipeline Scheduler works closely with the Control Centre, Field Operations, Engineering, Commercial, Measurement, Marketing, and other teams to ensure scheduling decisions align with system capabilities and customer expectations. Key Activities and Responsibilities
· Deliver high-quality service to shippers, producers, connected facilities, and internal stakeholders by anticipating needs, resolving issues, and providing accurate, solutions-focused support.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and operational partners while professionally representing the company in industry interactions.
· Review Notices of Shipment and ensure compliance with COLC guidelines and operational requirements.
· Execute weekly split processes and manage variances to minimize imbalances.
· Develop monthly pipeline schedules based on shipper nominations, system constraints, maintenance plans, and facility capabilities.
· Manage tank inventories, adjusting receipt and delivery schedules and communicating changes to stakeholders.
· Coordinate planned and unplanned downtime to optimize system availability and throughput.
· Monitor and adjust crude movements to ensure safe, reliable operations aligned with commercial objectives.
· Collaborate closely with the Control Centre to monitor flow rates, tank levels, and operational issues, engaging Field Operations as needed.
· Maintain accurate, up-to-date information in scheduling systems such as OSS, Terminal Boss, Oval, SharePoint, Teams, and MyContent.
· Implement receipt restrictions, delivery adjustments, trades, and other scheduling changes with supervisor approval.
· Participate in maintenance coordination and communicate impacts to internal and external stakeholders.
· Provide occasional after-hours and weekend support to meet operational needs.
· Maintain documentation, desk manuals, and operational records, ensuring compliance with company policies and governance.
· Support team performance through cross-training, constructive feedback, and ongoing development.
· Perform additional duties as required to support Commercial Operations priorities.
Education, Skills & Experience
· Minimum 3 years of experience in pipeline scheduling, logistics, operations, or marketing.
· Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
· Strong understanding of crude pipeline logistics, scheduling practices, and industry operational constraints.
· Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
· Proficiency with scheduling and operational systems (OSS, Terminal Boss, Oval, SharePoint, MyContent) or ability to learn quickly.
· Experience managing nominations, inventory movements, or throughput processes in midstream or upstream environments (asset).
· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with competing priorities.
· Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
· High attention to detail, proactive mindset, and strong commercial focus.
