Senior Completions Engineer
Duration: 12 month contract

Position Overview
This position offers an opportunity to lead technically complex completion design work within a global wells environment. The role is focused on supporting reliable well delivery, developing standardised design solutions, and contributing to future field development needs across multiple regions. This opportunity will suit a technically strong engineering professional with deep completion design expertise and the ability to support implementation across varied operating environments. The role also includes knowledge sharing and technical mentorship within a broader engineering team.
Role Context
This role sits within the energy sector and supports well design and delivery activities across a global portfolio. The position operates within a wells organisation focused on well reliability, field development, and completion standardisation, with collaboration across regional teams and major project stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead completion design projects with global scope, supporting safe and technically robust well outcomes.
- Develop upper and lower completion design solutions and document them within field-wide basis of design frameworks.
- Revise existing completion design standards to support consistency and standardisation across regions.
- Lead completion design input for major projects through concept select, optimise, and define stages.
- Collaborate with subsurface teams to incorporate well productivity considerations into completion design.
- Lead or support well-specific design and operational programme development where no existing basis of design is available.
- Work with suppliers on qualification testing and system integration testing for new completion designs.
- Provide execution support for implementation of new designs in collaboration with relevant technical teams.
- Contribute technical leadership in sand control design, continuous improvement, and operational support where required.
- Support capability development within the engineering team through guidance and mentoring.
Qualifications & Experience
- Engineering degree required.
- Strong experience in the design, execution, and analysis of cased hole and/or open hole gravel pack completions, including planning, operations, and tool systems.
- Experience using WellCat, Prosper, and PackPro; exposure to GAP and Reveal would be beneficial.
- Experience designing and conducting system integration tests, equipment assurance activities, and fluid chemistry and proppant testing.
- Background in well installation and rig operations.
- Experience working within major project delivery processes.
- Demonstrated capability in completion basis of design development.
- Strong technical communication, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing skills.
